Injuries are once again a headache for Eder Militao. As reported by ‘Tiempo de Juego de COPE’, the Real Madrid defender could undergo surgery, which would rule him out of this summer’s World Cup.
The defender withdrew from the match against Alaves due to discomfort in his hamstring, which days later was diagnosed by Real Madrid’s medical services as a biceps femoris injury in his left leg.
In this way, the Brazilian is seeking medical information and advice from those around him. If he does not undergo surgery, he would be available after five weeks, although a relapse is more than likely. If he goes under the knife, he would be ruled out of the World Cup, but the chances of a relapse would be significantly reduced.
In this scenario, Militao’s recovery time is estimated to be around four to five months, which would allow him to be fit for the start of the 2026/27 season, although his history suggests caution.
Mbappe to undergo tests on Monday
At the same time, Madrid is dealing with the absence of Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman felt some discomfort towards the end of the match against Betis and the first examinations pointed to an overload in the hamstring. On Monday, when Arbeloa’s side return to work, an MRI scan will be carried out to assess the extent of the setback.
