Micah Parsons demands NCAA inquiry after Duke blows 19-point lead in stunning UConn loss

NFL standout Micah Parsons is calling for a formal investigation into the 2026 NCAA Tournament following a shocking Elite Eight finish that left the linebacker “raging” on social media.

Parsons, a Penn State alumnus who was pulling for the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils on Sunday, voiced his disbelief after watching the tournament’s overall No. 1 seed squander a 19-point lead to the No. 2 seed UConn Huskies.

Following the buzzer-beating conclusion that sent Duke home early, the Green Bay Packers took to X (formerly Twitter) to suggest that the stunning turnaround felt scripted.

This needs to be investigated bro! I can’t lie I’m raging rn!

Parsons’ statement sparked a firestorm of debate among fans and analysts alike regarding the legitimacy of the collapse.

The controversy stems from the final seconds of Sunday’s clash at Capital One Arena. Duke held a narrow 72-70 lead and appeared to have the game in hand before a late turnover opened the door for a historic comeback.

Allegations of a “fixed” finish after 19-point swing

UConn’s Braylon Mullins capitalized on the error, draining a transition three-pointer at the horn to trigger a court storming and send the Huskies to their second consecutive Final Four.

While Parsons hinted at foul play, Duke’s Cayden Boozer was quick to take personal responsibility for the catastrophic error. “I ruined our team’s season,” a devastated Boozer said in the locker room postgame. “That’s the best I can put it.”

Despite the self-blame from the Blue Devils’ roster, Parsons’ public demand for an inquiry has shifted the conversation from a mental error to a full-blown sports conspiracy.

While the Duke locker room was filled with frustration and regret over their 35-3 season coming to an abrupt end, UConn head coach Dan Hurley remained in awe of his team’s “resiliency and fortitude.”

UConn’s road to the Final Four

Hurley noted that despite being down by nearly 20 points, the Huskies leaned on their championship habits to pull off the upset.

“I knew it was a deep shot. I didn’t realize how far away he was until I watched the replay,” Hurley said during a Monday interview with CBS Mornings.

The team’s been through a lot this year… we really leaned on our habits of preparation and how hard we practiced.

The victory advances the Huskies to a high-stakes Final Four matchup against the No. 3 Illinois Fighting Illini. The winner of that contest will move on to the national championship game to face either Arizona or Michigan, as UConn continues its quest for a third national title under Hurley’s tenure.
