Mark Teixeira is radical about the Minnesota shooting

The death of Renee Good following the ICE shooting in Minnesota has generated all sorts of reactions that provoke discussion and debate because of how controversial they can be. Mark Teixeira, a former Yankees player, is one of the personalities who has commented on the subject with a radical stance.

According to Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, Good was driving a vehicle that officers ordered him to get out of, but he refused to do so and “attempted to run them over and ram them with his vehicle.”

After Vice President JD Vance issued a strong statement defending ICE agents for their work, the White House released a graphic with part of Vance’s message and the text “Support ICE”.

Given the magnitude of the events, Teixeira, who is carving out a political career after succeeding as an MLB athlete, expressed his support for the Trump administration’s stance

The former baseball player is sympathetic to and aligned with the policies of Donald Trump and the Republican Party. With this political profile, he ran as a candidate for Texas’ 21st Congressional District with the firm conviction to promote and support Trump’s government agenda.

Teixeira’s announcement came after Rep. Chip Roy’s decision not to seek re-election and to run for Texas attorney general. Roy, who represents the district, made the announcement in a campaign video shared on X last year. His video focused on preserving the Lone Star State’s legacy of “freedom, independence and self-determination.”

Federal authorities said Good tried to run over ICE agents who were part of a 2,000-member team sent to the Twin Cities to arrest and deport undocumented immigrants with criminal records.

Mark Teixeira was a former MLB player who played for the Rangers, Braves, Angels and Yankees

He played 14 seasons in the Major Leagues. He debuted with the Rangers in 2003, but is perhaps best remembered for being an MVP candidate and World Series champion with the Yankees, the last team of his career.

Considered one of the best hitters in baseball, Teixeira was a three-time Silver Slugger Award winner and finished his career with a .269 batting average and 409 home runs. He was a five-time Gold Glove winner and was part of the Yankees team that won the 2009 World Series.
