Robert Lewandowski was the main novelty on Wednesday in the training session that Barcelona held at the Ciudad Deportiva. The striker trained with a protective mask and, therefore, it seems that he could be available to Xavi Hernandez for Saturday’s match against Athletic Club.
The Polish international suffered a trauma in the match against Villarreal. Tests diagnosed a bone fracture on the inner side of the orbit of the left eye. This injury forced him to miss Tuesday’s match against Atletico Madrid. However, on Wednesday he began to work with the protective mask that he will have to wear in the coming days.
In addition to Lewandowski, Roony, Rashford, Szczesny, Kochen, Araujo, Eric, Casado, Gavi, Tommy, Xavi Espart and Patricio Pacifico also worked on the pitch. The rest of the players stayed in the gym.
