LeSean McCoy tries to understand Puka Nacua amid biting allegations: “Maybe he is having too much fun”

The meteoric rise and current situation of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua have hit a turbulent stretch of airspace collapse. From being a player with record-breaking catches, the 24-year-old star is currently navigating a storm of controversy that does not seem to stop.

Between the fallout of an antisemitic gesture on an Adin Ross livestream and a recent fine for criticizing NFL officials, Nacua’s off-field narrative has become increasingly heavy. Now, the situation has intensified with a New Year’s Eve incident, where a woman alleged that Nacua bit her shoulder leaving a visible mark on her skin. Surreal.

Amidst this noise, it has been Philadelphia Eagles legend LeSean “Shady” McCoy who has stepped in with a perspective that balances veteran empathy with a necessary reality check aimed at Nacua.

McCoy’s leans on Nacua’s inexperience

Speaking on the Speakeasy podcast, LeSean McCoy took a measured approach in this regard. Rather than joining the chorus of judgment, McCoy focused on the human element of being a superstar in your early twenties.

“I mean, a lot of allegedly this, allegedly that, I don’t know what’s true, what’s false. This is what I will say though, Puka… he’s a 24-year-old kid living his dream. Maybe he might be doing a little bit, having too much fun, but what’s too much fun? He’s 24

McCoy, who famously navigated his own share of headlines during his Hall of Fame-caliber career, noted that the spotlight on superstar players often confuses the real truth.

“I’ve been lied on before, and people do lie on superstar players,” he revealed bluntly, warning that in the digital age, a single claim can travel “a million places” in seconds.

A warning worth up to $180 Million

While McCoy offered a defense of Nacua’s youth, co-host Emmanuel Acho provided the business side of the conversation. Acho did not declare guilt, but he pointed to the “dollar signs” that now follow Nacua wherever he goes:

“Puka, you are a dollar sign… And sometimes people can see dollar signs. You are (about to be) a $180 million human being in the flesh right now… Act like who you’re going to be, not necessarily who you are today

Acho’s concern lies in the constant pattern of his behaviour. Regardless of the truth behind each individual claim, the fact that trouble just keeps appearing on Nacua’s path is a massive red flag for a player entering the tax bracket of the NFL’s elite. McCoy also mentioned:

“You ain’t breaking no laws. You ain’t breaking no rules. You ain’t harming nobody from my knowledge… take it easy, bro. That’s it

As Nacua enters the 2026 season, he must leave these issues behind and focus entirely on football, letting his performance on the field talk louder than his private life.
