Kevin Stefanski faces new pressure as Shedeur Sanders knows he has support from President Donald Trump

Perhaps Shedeur Sanders was overlooked by every NFL team (except the Cleveland Browns) during the draft, or there’s a segment of fans theorizing that Kevin Stefanski is trying to sabotage his career, but the truth is that he has the full backing of the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

At least that’s how it appears after the president took to social media to share his thoughts on Shedeur’s first career start.

Shedeur Sanders reacts to Donald Trump’s post

After securing his first professional win against the Las Vegas Raiders, Trump posted on his social media: “Shedeur Sanders was GREAT. Wins first game, career start, as a pro (for Cleveland). Great Genes. I TOLD YOU SO!”

The Browns quarterback responded to the shout-out during his press conference: “He’s definitely been a supporter for a minute,” Sanders said. “So I’m just thankful for him, even taking time out of his day to be able to speak out and support.”

The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback didn’t see any NFL action until Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens, and it certainly wasn’t his best performance as he struggled against that defense.

In Week 12, Kevin Stefanski decided to give him the starting nod, and Shedeur led the offense to the second-highest point total of the entire season, becoming the first rookie QB to win his debut start for the franchise since 1995.

Throughout this season, Stefanski had already turned to two other quarterbacks before giving Shedeur a chance. First it was veteran Joe Flacco, then Dillon Gabriel starting in Week 5.

Gabriel entering the concussion protocol cost him the job and opened the door for Deion Sanders‘ son, who was closely watching his first start from the stands.

In Week 13, Shedeur Sanders will once again be under center against a San Francisco 49ers team that can’t afford another loss as they remain in the hunt for the NFC West lead.
