In it, Julio Cesar Chavez showed signs of alteration due to substance abuse, while talking about political issues and hurling insults, even towards his own son Julio, whom he verbally humiliated in front of friends and family.
Julio Cesar Chavez has acknowledged knowing members of the Sinaloa group, but says it is common social relationships in Culiacan, with no criminal implications. He has publicly reiterated that his son is innocent and that many of the people he has been associated with are part of the context in which he grew up. However, some journalists point out that even Chavez Jr.’s partner, Frida Munoz, widow of Edgar Guzman, may have facilitated this relationship.
