Keith Thurman was born in Clearwater, Florida, on November 23, 1988. From an early age, he showed a passion for the sport of one-on-one combat. At the age of 18, on November 9, 2007, he began his journey in the super welterweight division.

His first fight came against Panamanian Kensky Rodney at the Carte Event Pavilion card held in Tampa, Florida, in a bout scheduled for four rounds. However, he did not need much time to demonstrate his punching power.

In the first round, he sent his opponent to the canvas. With a precise body shot, his rival had no strength left to return and continue the fight. That was followed by another tremendous display, this time against Jamaican Omar Bell, who entered undefeated and was knocked into a deep sleep in the opening round.

He continued along that path, steadily climbing fight cards until he was considered for bigger events and reached main event status, where he began earning higher purses and gaining international exposure.

The great achievements of Keith Thurman

Since December 2016, he managed to reach the upper tier of the welterweight division, although not in the top spot, but rather in second place, according to BoxRec and The Ring magazine. Currently, he is regarded as the eighth best pound-for-pound fighter.

His nickname is One Time, and his greatest specialty is the knockout, as he carries a hammer in his fists. His power has made him an outstanding boxer. He has only one defeat, which came against Manny Pacquiao in 2019.

At that moment, his record stood at 29-1. He secured a guaranteed purse of $2.5 million for the fight against the Filipino legend. At present, he has recorded 22 knockouts in 30 fights.

His size has been a major advantage, combined with a refined technique that allows him to use his fists as lethal weapons, earning him many victories throughout his career in the ring.

He stands 5-foot-9.5 and has a reach of 69 inches. He is of African American, Polish, and Hungarian descent.

Keith Thurman’s net worth

As expected, his participation in major fights such as the one against Pacquiao allowed him to earn higher guaranteed purses. That is, whether he won or lost, his earnings were secured.

For that reason, he has managed to significantly increase his finances. Alongside his wife, Priyanka Thapa, he has carefully managed the income he has earned in the boxing world.

Keith Thurman’s net worth is $3 million, allowing him to maintain a comfortable lifestyle, and with upcoming fights, he will surely continue to increase it.
