Juan Soto faces an unexpected adjustment with the Mets and will have to carry the team’s offense

The New York Mets are determined to become a contending team in 2026, and the first thing they will try to do is forget a 2025 season in which they surprisingly missed the MLB playoffs. In this context, Juan Soto will be a fundamental piece to achieve that Mets success-if they don’t want to sign another failure.

But many things have changed in Queens, so changes are expected that will also affect Juan Soto’s role with the Mets.

Revealed Changes for Juan Soto with the Mets

“Juan Soto is shifting to left field, according to David Stearns,” reported Mike Puma on X (formerly Twitter).

The Mets are making adjustments after several MLB offseason acquisitions. Part of this strategy stems from the arrival of the powerful hitter Luis Robert Jr., who plays in the outfield.

It will be a new challenge for the Mets’ big star, who finished 2025 with Juan Soto stats of a .263 batting average, 43 home runs, and 105 RBIs for New York in a season where the Mets record 2025 was 83-79.

At the end of the year, the New York Mets were left without a postseason ticket after the Cincinnati Reds snatched the final Wild Card spot 2025.

With Francisco Lindor injury news confirmed to likely require surgery, Juan Soto will be key for Mets offense right from the start of the season. Fans will have to wait and see what awaits the Mets led by manager Carlos Mendoza.
