Juan Soto adds fuel to the fire and manages to anger Yankees and Mets fans at the same time

New York City is usually divided with its MLB teams, however, the latest actions of Juan Soto have achieved the impossible: to unite Yankees and Mets fans in the same cause, which is based on the little patience there is with the Dominican, who uses social networks to attract attention and make noise in the media.

Juan Soto plays nostalgia game with Yankees fans

It all started when Soto, now the face of the Mets, used his social networks to share a graphic that highlighted his historic partnership with Aaron Judge during the 2024 season. For Yankees fans, the gesture was seen as a direct blow to the heart.

“He so much regrets his decision. He shouldn’t have been so greedy,” commented one user on X, reflecting the feelings of a crowd that still does not forgive Soto for choosing Steve Cohen’s $765 million over the Yankees’ $760 million offer.

On the one hand, Soto fondly remembers the past and the partnership he had with his former teammate, but on the other hand, there are fans who criticize the decision he made to change teams and how inconsistent he is when it comes to making a publication that only made him gain hatred on social networks.

The Mets are also angry with Juan Soto

Mets fans have not had the start to their relationship with Soto that they expected. Amid rumors that the player was not entirely comfortable in the locker room and comparative debates with captain Francisco Lindor, patience is running thin.

With a batting average ranging from .224 to .241 in the early months and an OPS below his usual elite level, Mets fans are still waiting for Soto to shine again and justify the investment that was made in him, which was not insignificant.

While Soto’s performance is not the best, Mets fans are upset that he uploads photos of his past while he is not able to have a good present. New York is on fire and the anger of two rival teams has the same name as pointed out: Juan Soto.
