Jason Kelce makes damning statement about the Philadelphia Eagles that may anger Jalen Hurts

Jason Kelce may be a long-time icon of the Philadelphia Eagles. But the current NFL analyst didn’t mince his words when discussing his former franchise’s offensive woes.

In a pointed interview, Kelce directly criticized the structure of the Eagles‘ offense and how it is affecting current quarterback Jalen Hurts, suggesting deeper issues than mere execution mistakes.

His remarks came in the wake of the Eagles blowing a 21-0 lead and suffering a 24-21 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys on one of the most scrutinized stages of the season.

Kelce laid out his concern bluntly: “The whole offense line has been banged up, the pressure rate was there last night.”

“They were slanting those guys. They were working back over top of blocks,” while describing the work done by opposing defensive fronts.

“This year is the first year where they have really struggled to run the football,” Kelce concluded.

Eagles papering over the cracks

That collapse, according to Kelce, revealed structural vulnerabilities he believes the organization has underreported. While the Eagles‘ defense faltered at moments, Kelce argued that the offense simply didn’t allow for success.

“A lot of it comes down to being banged up and not being a cohesive unit that they have been and healthy in the past,” he said.

The blunt nature of his assessment is noteworthy for two reasons. Kelce remains deeply connected to the franchise he helped build and he also directed the criticism in a way that implicates some fault of the coaches he worked under.

For Jalen Hurts, Kelce‘s comments land at a sensitive time. The quarterback, under increasing pressure to deliver after reaching the Super Bowl and earning MVPcaliber discussion, now faces public scrutiny from one of the Eagles‘ most iconic voices.

While Hurts remains wellregarded within the organization, Kelce‘s narrative demands greater support for him and questions if the offense is built to his strengths as a dual-threat quarterback.

Sirianni responds to criticism

Head coach Nick Sirianni responded to the collapse by reminding reporters, “When there’s the amount of mistakes that we had, I’ve got to make sure my message is getting through.”

While Sirianni took accountability, his comments didn’t address the specific clues Kelce highlighted. That omission could give the impression that Kelce‘s critique stings more than a single bad loss.

It’s tough to know what comes next for the Eagles. Some believe Kelce‘s comments may serve as a wakeup call, while others think it could widen the divide between some members of the locker room.

Either way, the interplay between Kelce‘s critique and Hurts‘ performance will be a storyline to monitor.

But the message is unmistakable: the Eagles must improve and find a system that works to Hurts’ strengths, or suffer the consequences.
