How did the arrival of Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro change the life of Antonela Roccuzzo with Lionel Messi?

Since she was 19, Antonela Roccuzzo has accompanied her husband as they left Argentina for Barcelona. She has shared in Lionel Messi‘s moments of greatness in soccer, his time at PSG, and his current stint at Inter Miami, as well as every game with the Argentina national team and, of course, his coronation as world champion in Qatar 2022.

However, she has shown herself to be most devoted to her three children, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro, and “what has changed her most as a woman.” Nevertheless, she has revealed that she has been able to find a balance between motherhood and her personal and professional life.

Antonela reveals how she navigated motherhood

Amid fame and soccer, Leo and Anto started a family. In November 2012, their first son, Thiago, was born; he is now 14 years old. Years later came Mateo, 11, born in September 2015. On June 30, 2017, the couple celebrated their wedding, and almost a year later, in March 2018, they welcomed their third son, Ciro, who is now 8.

Far from the glamour that surrounds one of soccer’s most famous families, her daily life revolves around being there for her children and spending quality time with them. For Antonela, there’s no doubt: being a mom is the most important thing in her life.

“What changed me the most as a woman was becoming a mom. Because from that moment on, my children became my priority,” she confessed in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Mexico.

Now that her children are a little older, the Argentine model has revealed that she is “enjoying some things for herself that she couldn’t do before” and admitted with a laugh that she is “feeling like an old lady.”

The truth is that lately, Anto has been delving deeper into her business career, collaborating with multiple brands such as Adidas, Tiffany & Co., Stanley, and Anastasia Beverly Hills, in addition to her businesses in her home country and her charitable and philanthropic causes. But finding balance hasn’t always been easy-and certainly not under the public eye.

“I’m really enjoying this stage where my kids aren’t so little anymore because I’m valuing myself in a different way, putting myself at the center too. This is something new, and I’m going to experience it little by little,” she reflected.

Surrounded by soccer, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro attend the Inter Miami academy -the same team as their father- but it’s not the only activity they enjoy. As Roccuzzo revealed, building with Lego is one of the family’s favorite pastimes: “My kids and I have a sort of museum where we display all our Lego creations,” she said, admitting that they also enjoy watching movies.

In this way, far from the media spotlight that surrounds her life with Lionel Messi, Antonela chooses to build her identity from a much deeper and more authentic place: that of a present and committed mother and a passionate professional.
