Guardiola’s viral warning: “Manchester City must be ready for my goodbye”

Pep Guardiola once again came out with one of those phrases that makes noise. The Manchester City manager, always so unpredictable, spoke about his future with the frankness that characterizes him: “The club has to be ready for its next coach”.

The Spanish coach, who has been in charge of the Citizens since 2016, did not hide his changeable nature. “I’m a strange guy, a strange guy… and maybe I’ll wake up in the morning and say: I’m leaving! Ciao, ciao!” he said with a wry smile.

It won’t be forever

Guardiola wanted to cool any immediate suspicion. “They have to be prepared, but it’s not the case that I’m leaving,” he said, conscious that his every word resonates strongly in Manchester.

The message, beyond the relaxed tone, sounds like a warning. Guardiola does not set a date for his farewell, but he remembers that no cycle is eternal. And at the Etihad, more than one is already taking note.
