Frontal attack on Laporta and Barcelona: “He should apologise for paying the scoundrel Enriquez Negreira”

Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez, a media referee who officiated LaLiga matches from 1995 to 2012, has been very harsh with Joan Laporta after his criticism of refereeing after Real Madrid‘s victory over Rayo Vallecano.

They are favouring a club (Real Madrid) that has a television station that goes out of its way to explain things out of place and to say that the referees are constantly harming them

Joan Laporta

“I watched Real Madrid’s game against Rayo Vallecano and I don’t know where those nine or 10 minutes of extra time came from. I saw many plays in which many players are getting used to diving, and this should be a card… And I say this in a constructive sense, sometimes it also happens in our favor and I would recognize it the same,” said Joan Laporta commenting on the Madrid 2-1 Rayo.

I would advise Laporta that, when he says that a club is being benefited,… the climate we are living in is that he, among others, has paid the vice-president of the CTA

Laporta took the opportunity to criticise Real Madrid and its television station once again: “They are favouring a club (Real Madrid) that has a television station that is dedicated to explaining things out of place and saying that the referees constantly harm them. And the reaction is this.”

Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez, after listening to Laporta’s words, criticised the president of F.C. Barcelona harshly on the programme ‘El Larguero’.

Iturralde Gonzalez: “When Joan Laporta talks about refereeing, the first thing he should do is apologise”

“The penalty for Madrid against Rayo is not doubtful… I would advise Laporta that, when he says that a club is benefiting, the climate we are living in is that he, among others, has paid the vice-president of the CTA (Technical Committee of Referees),” the 58-year-old former referee told Manu Carreno.

Iturralde reminded Joan Laporta of the ‘Negreira Case’ in which the payment of 7 million euros between 2001 and 2018 to the vice-president of the CTA for reports is being investigated: “The climate that is being experienced today in Spanish football, and in refereeing… The disservice that has been done to Spanish refereeing has been partly thanks to him and the scoundrel Enriquez Negreira”.

The Cadena SER arbitration analyst believes that “when Joan Laporta talks about refereeing, the first thing he should do is to apologise to Spanish football, and to refereeing in particular, for leaving us in the situation that he and other presidents have left us in for paying the vice-president of the CTA, the scoundrel Enriquez Negreira, and getting us into where we are”

“He must apologise to Spanish football and refereeing”, said Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez in his frontal attack on Joan Laporta.
