Former Yankees player slams Dodgers for mocking and disrespecting them after winning World Series

The offseason is not an easy time for the New York Yankees, as they not only had to endure the taunts of losing the World Series at home to the Los Angeles Dodgers, a rival that four decades earlier had beaten them at the same stage.

Now the Dodgers have recalled this recent World Series, and some players made comments in relation to the Yankees’ defensive problems, something that was not to the liking of the Bronx Bombers fans

These criticisms were joined by former Yankees slugger Jon Berti, who branded the Dodgers’ reactions as unprofessional.

“I don’t know if I ever heard a World Series-winning team talk as bad about the World Series-losing team as they did. They were disrespecting us to the point of death, where we didn’t even deserve to be in the World Series. The Yankees won a lot of games last year and we won our division. We deserve to be there, but unfortunately, we didn’t have our best performance, especially from a defensive and baserunning standpoint.”

Between the taunts over the defeat and the low spending

The Yankees have not only suffered these taunts, but the New York team was also unable to retain Juan Soto, who was a key man in the 2024 season for the Yankees to reach the World Series.

In addition, Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner said that this offseason they would not spend the billions of dollars as both the Mets and Dodgers have done. This comment led some fans to suggest to Steinbrenner that he finance the signings through GoFoundMe

While the Dodgers acquired the services of Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki, who will give their pitching staff an interesting rotation, Shohei Ohtani also joins the team, who only hit in 2024.
