Erin Andrews rushes to defense of Tom Brady as NFL career is questioned

Erin Andrews is now pushing back at Tom Brady‘s critics who insist he isn’t measuring up, as she argued he stepped into an atmosphere far harsher than most newcomers since linking up with FOX Sports.

One of the most watched American athletes of all-time, the spotlight around Tom Brady has grown brighter since he shifted from the huddle to the broadcast booth a couple of years after retiring from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady’s move to Fox in 2023 signaled a new challenge as he penned a 10-year, $375 million contract tied him instantly to a major platform and brought sky-high expectations, adding pressure unlike anything faced by typical first-year analysts.

And for Andrews, Brady’s entrance into television was always going to carry outsized expectations, as she explained that scrutiny shadowed nearly everything he did early on, even though finding your voice on-air takes time for any former athlete.

To her, Brady’s steady improvement is simply who he is, whether preparing for a hostile road game or navigating the rhythms of live television. In her view, the growth is evidence of habits built through decades at the top.

“I think we saw that with Tom Brady,” Andrews said. “I mean, I think he was the most scrutinized person to get into a booth, especially last year, right? And I’m proud of him.

“We were um think we were doing Tampa, maybe it was Eagles versus Tampa Week 4. Wow, listening to you in this game, which was your fourth game of the season versus now it’s just night and day.”

That jump didn’t surprise her. Throughout Brady’s career, she watched him devote hours to small details that others overlooked, and she believes that same drive is now shaping his second life in football as a national voice.

Their history spans decades of sideline hits, post-game interviews, and long playoff runs. Andrews was present for many of Brady’s defining moments, from New England dominance to Tampa triumph, giving her a front-row seat to his evolution.

Tom Brady’s Raiders make coaching change in Las Vegas

Away from broadcasting, Brady is tied to a franchise facing its own turmoil as his Las Vegas Raiders, mired in a season of frustration that suffered a new low with a defeat to the Cleveland Browns.

As a result, the front office at the Allegiant Stadium made a sweeping move by firing their offensive coordinator Chip Kelly after a deflating loss, hours after a 24-10 defeat to Shedeur Sanders.

The 23-year-old delivered a poised debut that exposed deeper flaws in the Raiders’ offense, meaning Kelly had to go despite his arrival once being hailed as a coup, backed by a massive contract meant to jump-start the team.

Instead, inconsistency, stalled drives, and protection breakdowns placed the coordinator at the center of growing tension as Geno Smith has taken the brunt of the punishment, including ten sacks in the loss to the Browns.

Head coach Pete Carroll now faces a tightrope as the season unravels faster than expected in a competitive AFC West. Special teams coordinator Tom McMahon was also dismissed earlier in the month, adding to the upheaval.

The road only gets harder for the Raiders with the Los Angeles Chargers next, followed by the Denver Broncos and the Philadelphia Eagles.
