The imminent signing of German Berterame by Inter Miami not only generated reactions in the environment of the Las Garzas and Rayados fans, but also sparked an unexpected reaction.Denis Bouanga, star and top scorer of Los Angeles FC, publicly expressed his annoyance after the club of Lionel Messi completed a lightning operation that left him off the radar. A gesture on social networks was enough to unleash the controversy.

Denis Bouanga lashes out at his team for frustrating his move to Miami

The increasingly likely arrival of German Berterame to Inter Miami would be an agreement with Rayados de Monterrey for a figure close to $15 million, generating a strong impact in the league.

X de Denis Bouanga

Denis Bouanga used his X account to share a message that quickly went viral. The striker retweeted a fan’s post that read: “You’re inches away from your dream and the club shuts you down…”. Although brief, the gesture was interpreted as confirmation of his frustration.

Behind the message is a clear motive: Bouanga, it is presumed, was Inter Miami’s Plan A before the club decided on Berterame. The Miami management is said to have offered a similar figure to LAFC, but the response was negative.

Bouanga’s conflict with LAFC management

Bouanga’s anger stems from the fact that his club did not authorize the transfer, even though the player was willing to make the leap. This stance has created tension between the striker and some of the Los Angeles fans, who now doubt his commitment to the club.

One of the reasons why the Los Angeles outfit did not authorize the transfer of Bouanga is not only to avoid losing one of its key players, but also to avoid strengthening a direct rival such as Inter Miami, the reigning MLS Cup champions.

With the transfer market active and the MLS season still far away, the possibility of Bouanga leaving LAFC is growing. Although he is assured of a starting place, the emotional breakdown with the club could accelerate his departure in this window.

In Miami, meanwhile, unable to secure the arrival of the French-Gabonese player, Messi’s team quickly moved for Berterame and closed the deal without any major setbacks.

Unlike Bouanga, German Berterame will have to fight for his place. At Inter Miami he will compete directly with Luis Suarez, a player of great stature, and with Tadeo Allende, one of the team’s best players at present.

The challenge for the former Monterrey player will be to adapt quickly and take advantage of the opportunities in a squad full of stars.
