The Finalissima already has a date: March 27, 2026. UEFA and CONMEBOL have made official the place and date of the celebration of the duel that will pit Spain against Argentina, current champions of Europe and America, respectively. The match will be played at the Lusail Stadium in Doha, Qatar, on March 27 at 12:00 CST.

It will be the first time that the Spanish national team will fight for this title, of which three editions have been held. The first in 1985 and 1993 under the name of the Artemio Franchi Cup and were won by France and Argentina.

In 2022, the competition was resumed with the match between Argentina and Italy in London with victory for the Albiceleste, who have two of the three titles.

Spain will go into the clash against Lionel Scaloni’s side not only as the reigning European champions, but also currently ranked number one in the FIFA rankings, ahead of the South American side.

The last official meeting between the two teams was in March 2018, when they met in a friendly match in Madrid with a 6-1 victory for Spain.
