CeeDee Lamb star calls out Steelers over George Pickens drama

George Pickens’ arrival in Dallas has sparked a storyline nobody expected to heat up this quickly. After months of whispers about his attitude in Pittsburgh, the wideout has settled smoothly into the Cowboys offense and found both comfort and support. While his time with the Steelers ended under a cloud of rumors about sideline frustration and locker room conflicts, his new teammates aren’t buying any of it.

CeeDee Lamb, who has quickly become one of Pickens’ loudest supporters, has been especially vocal about how different the receiver looks in his new environment. From Lamb’s perspective, whatever narrative followed Pickens out of Pittsburgh doesn’t line up with reality in Dallas. He says the version of Pickens seen at the Cowboys facility is motivated, focused, and fitting in naturally with the rest of the roster.

Lamb even pointed out that the supposed “antics” people referenced in Pittsburgh simply aren’t showing up in Dallas. According to him, Pickens is relaxed, comfortable, and enjoying a system that highlights his strengths.

As far as everything that he’s doing and accomplishing, I feel like the standard that they had set for him before, like all the little antics that they had going on about him, you don’t see none of that going on here. He’s vibing.

A new role in Dallas and a not-so-subtle message for Pittsburgh

Once Pickens landed with the Cowboys, his production immediately jumped. Playing alongside Dak Prescott in one of the league’s most explosive passing games put him right back among the NFL’s top wideouts. Meanwhile, the Steelers took a completely different path. They traded for DK Metcalf, gave him a massive four-year, 132-million dollar contract, and expected him to replace Pickens’ big-play ability. So far, the numbers haven’t supported that investment, and the pressure is shifting toward Pittsburgh’s younger receivers to step up.

Reports across multiple outlets noted that the Steelers were never willing to offer Pickens more than 30 million dollars per season. That decision effectively pushed the trade forward, along with the belief that coach Mike Tomlin wasn’t thrilled with the receiver’s behavior on or off the field.

In Dallas, none of that seems to be an issue. Lamb says Pickens feels accepted and valued, which has led to even better on-field performance. He praised how quickly Pickens adapted, saying the Cowboys encouraged him to be himself without trying to reshape him into something else.

With Pickens now producing at a high level again, the conversation has shifted to his upcoming contract. Lamb openly supports the idea of Dallas locking him up long term and believes the receiver has earned a massive extension.

The Steelers moved on. The Cowboys embraced him. And now Pickens is reminding everyone why he was considered one of the most talented young receivers in the league. Lamb’s comments only fuel the growing sense that the problem in Pittsburgh may not have been the player at all.
