Carlos Alcaraz is currently ranked No. 1 in the ATP rankings and has achieved great success by winning Wimbledon, Roland Garros, and the US Open, but he hasn’t forgotten his roots.
During his recent visit to his childhood tennis club in Murcia, Spain, the 22-year-old star had a great gesture for a young fan who was eagerly awaiting him.
Alcaraz’s gift to a child
Back at the club where he took his first steps in the sport, Carlos was greeted by several fans who were eager to see him, exchange a few words, or take a picture with him. However, one of them took home a bigger gift.
When Alcaraz saw a smiling little boy among the crowd, he went over to greet him. Giving him a warm hug, he also handed him a tennis ball with his signature on it as a present, a touching gesture that was praised by fans.
Meanwhile, the 24-time singles champion is about to travel to Melbourne to participate in the Australian Open and start a new year trying to make history and change the outlook, as he has not had an easy 2025.
The biggest challenge was the separation of the tennis player and his head coach since 2019, Juan Carlos Ferrero, who announced their split on December 17, although this decision was not sudden.
Although this generated controversy and, above all, doubts about the athlete’s future, Carlos is ready to face new challenges with Samuel López, who was Ferrero’s assistant since 2024 and has temporarily taken on the role of head coach.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz already has six Grand Slams under his belt at just 22 years old, something that none of the members of the legendary Big Three had achieved at that age. Now, he has his sights set on the only Grand Slam that Alcaraz has yet to win: the Australian Open, which will take place from January 18 to February 1.
If he finally manages to add his name to the list of winners, he will become the youngest tennis player to complete the Grand Slam circle.
