Carlos Alcaraz showcases brand new tattoos which celebrate US Open victories

Carlos Alcaraz has once again found a way to mark a defining chapter of his career, this time not with a trophy lift but with fresh ink.

The Spanish star’s latest tattoo, unveiled on social media in recent days, pays tribute to his second US Open triumph and has quickly become a talking point among fans and tennis commentators alike.

Alcaraz claimed his second title at Flushing Meadows on September 8, defeating long time rival Jannik Sinner in a high quality final at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The 21 year old produced a commanding performance to win 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, reinforcing his reputation as the most dynamic force in men’s tennis. The victory carried added significance, coming three years after his first breakthrough in New York and further cementing his status at the top of the ATP rankings.

His connection to the US Open has always been emotional. In 2022, Alcaraz captured his first Grand Slam title at the tournament, beating Casper Ruud in a gripping four set final.

That match, won 6-4, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3, marked the moment he became the youngest men’s world number one in ATP history, a milestone widely covered by outlets such as the ATP Tour website and ESPN.

To commemorate that first major success, Alcaraz had the date of the victory tattooed on his arm.

Now, following his 2025 win in New York, he has chosen to expand the tribute rather than replace it, adding powerful symbols of the city that has shaped so much of his rise.

Tattoos reflecting a growing legacy in New York

The new tattoo sits just above the original date and features two instantly recognisable landmarks: the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Both images carry strong associations with New York and with freedom, ambition and endurance, themes that resonate closely with Alcaraz‘s journey on tour.

Photos circulating online show the Spaniard smiling as he displays the artwork, as well as moments from the tattooing process itself. The post that sparked widespread attention included a caption that read:

“11.09.22” the date of the first grand slam in nyc now next to Carlos Alcaraz‘s new tattoo.

Rather than being a simple celebration, the tattoo appears to underline how central the US Open has become to his personal story.

Speaking in previous interviews with ATP Media, Alcaraz has often described New York as a place where he feels energy unlike anywhere else on the circuit, praising the crowd intensity and the history of the tournament.

Tennis analysts have also noted that Alcaraz‘s rivalry with Sinner has increasingly defined the modern era of the sport.

Their latest US Open final was seen by many as another chapter in a matchup that could mirror the great rivalries of the past, a point echoed in coverage by Eurosport and Tennis Channel.

For Alcaraz, the tattoo is more than a trend or a fashion statement. It is a permanent reminder of nights under the lights at Arthur Ashe Stadium, of pressure handled and expectations fulfilled.

As his career continues to grow, so too does the story etched onto his arm, one Grand Slam at a time.
