Angel Reese tries to get Pastor Mike Jr. in trouble with Jesus when she offers him millions of dollars

During the last episode of Angel Reese‘s podcast Unapologetically Angel, the WNBA star asked gospel singer and pastor Pastor Mike Jr. if he would rather have $10 trillion or 10 minutes with Jesus.

“Give me the $10 trillion. Imma give Jesus 10 percent,” he responded. “Me and Jesus good. I’m with Jesus all the time. He walks with me, he talks with me, he tells me I’m his own. He don’t want to set $10 trillion. Give me them $10 trillion, Imma be on the altar Tuesday.”

Reese burst into laughter as he explained his reasoning. When Pastor Mike added that receiving the money would only confirm that God wanted him to have it, she leaned in, clearly entertained and intrigued by the logic.

Throughout the exchange, Reese flashed playful reactions, signaling how much the moment resonated with her.

Balancing belief, family, and a rapidly changing life

The discussion soon shifted from money to something even more personal. Reese asked how athletes can stay connected to their families and inner circles as fame, income, and expectations grow. It is a question she knows well as her own life has changed quickly since college.

“I wish one of my dream jobs I can do. I wish athletes would bring me in to talk to their family and friends. I wish the moment Angel blew up, she would come to house and like, ‘Hey, this is Pastor Mike Jr. He has something to say’…I would tell them to keep God first.”

Pastor Mike emphasized how important it is for those closest to an athlete to grow alongside them. He referenced Reese‘s early days at LSU, when she lived in an apartment and earned money in ways her friends understood. Now, as she lives in a larger home and earns far more, he believes alignment is critical.

Without that shared understanding, he warned, relationships can quietly shift. Resentment or confusion can creep in if expectations are not addressed. In his view, keeping faith at the center helps maintain clarity and trust, regardless of lifestyle changes.

Reese listened closely. Faith has long been a foundation for her, especially through criticism and pressure that have followed her rise. As the episode wrapped up, she hinted at taking another step in that journey.

“Hopefully we can meet in person. Hopefully, I can come to either Alabam, or you can come here so we can get baptized.”
