This past Sunday, Decemeber 7, Chicago Sky player Angel Reese appeared at Madison Square Garden to support her boyfriend, Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr., during the game they played against the Knicks.

But she did not show up merely as another fan; she also gave a complete redefinition to the term commonly applied to players’ partners, WAG.

Wearing an outfit fully aligned with New York Knicks colors, including an orange jacket that sharply contrasted with her boyfriend’s blue and white team palette, Reese stood out.

Yet that was not all, because she introduced a new interpretation to WAG, which literally means “Wifes and Girlfriends.”

WAG: Work And Glam .

She wrote, adding a wink emoji and a blue heart.

For a long time, the term WAG has been used informally to encompass the wives and girlfriends of athletes who regularly attend games to support them, especially at home. Now, with this twist, Reese underscores the value of what she has accomplished on and off the court, making clear she is not merely a companion but someone with a meaningful role beyond cheering for her partner.

Wendell Carter Jr. refers to Angel Reese as his “homie.”

In recent days, Wendell Carter Jr. referred to Angel Reese as his “homie” on FanDuelTV’s Run it Back, also calling her his girl under pressure from the show’s hosts.

Y’all gonna find out when y’all need to find out.”…”We’ll just leave it at that. That’s my girl, though. We locked in for sure.

Reese echoed his comment using the same “homie” expression.

Rumors had grown as Angel attended several Orlando Magic games, and with the confirmation, it became clear they had been together for months, though likely keeping the relationship more discreet. Their public appearances together, particularly those moments when Reese was seen courtside during Magic matchups, had already fueled speculation among fans and observers who closely follow both athletes.

Each sighting contributed to a growing sense that the two were sharing far more than a casual connection, even if neither had chosen to speak openly about their relationship at the time

Their decision to maintain a relatively low profile seemed intentional, allowing them to protect their personal dynamic while continuing to excel professionally in their respective leagues. Nonetheless, as more images and brief interactions surfaced, the narrative surrounding them became increasingly difficult for either to sidestep.

By the time Carter finally addressed the subject publicly, even in his characteristically reserved manner, many observers felt the confirmation merely validated what had already seemed evident.

Reese’s thoughtful acknowledgment, mirroring his language, further reinforced the impression that their bond had grown steadily over time. Taken together, their remarks and appearances suggest a relationship
