Aaron Judge surprises Kevin Durant with his routine and discipline before playing

In addition to being present with the Yankees at the start of the season with a 7-0 shutout victory over the Giants, Aaron Judge had a conversation with Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant.

During the conversation between the two athletes, the basketball player was surprised when the New York baseball player shared the routine he goes through before games. More than a routine exercise, it is a discipline that he shares with his teammates.

Aaron Judge’s pre-game routine

The New York right fielder left Durant surprised by how early he gets to the stadium. In the March Cover Story, he said that he usually arrives at the stadium six hours before game time.

Yes, it’s crazy. At two o’clock we’re already there, but you’re stretching, doing stuff in the training room. We have meetings

Aaron Judge

Durant compared Judge’s routine to his own, but with a clear difference in hours. The basketball player tends to arrive two hours early to stretch and create a locker room atmosphere, plus he doesn’t like to arrive at the arena with time on his hands. The baseball player and his teammates, on the other hand, discipline themselves to be at the stadium as early as possible to concentrate fully on the game they are about to play.

Recognizes to Durant that he boos himself

During a recent matchup against the Orioles, Judge was met with a chorus of boos after striking out, a surprising reaction for a homegrown icon in his own ballpark.

Although analysts pointed out that a significant portion of the noise likely came from visiting Baltimore fans, the reaction highlighted the enormous pressure on the 33-year-old to end the Yankees’ championship drought.

Regarding this situation, the baseball player shared with the NBA star that external noise rarely exceeds the standards he sets for himself because he is usually self-critical. In fact, he admitted that he boos himself when he feels he had a bad game or when he made mistakes.
