The eyes of New York Yankees fans are fixed on the team’s Spring Training in Orlando, Florida, and are even more focused on Aaron Judge, who is expected to make a difference with the Yankees after falling short in last year’s postseason and World Series.
Aaron Judge was exposed, but he already responded
A report last Tuesday at Steinbrenner Field set off alarm bells when Sean Boyle, a minor league pitcher invited to training, threw three balls in a row to Judge that he never found with his bat.The guest pitcher had exhibited the powerful Aaron Judge in front of all the attendees.
It was then that tempers flared and began to become strained with the blame for all the Yankees’ misfortunes placed on Judge, since he dropped that ball in the last game of the Fall Classic against the Dodgers.
Judge has no choice but to overcome that mistake and also the multiple affronts that the Yankees fans have made to him, so his bat is the one that must speak in this training camp, and of course from minute one of next season in the Major Leagues.
“Swing the bat,” they shouted from the stands
And sooner rather than later came the response, just when a fan angry with Tuesday’s demonstrations asked Judge a heartfelt “swing the bat”, as a peculiar way of demanding more dedication, concentration and power. The American League MVP blew a ball with fury, as if that shout from the stands had given him the power required to send the 108-seam ball flying through the Florida skies, as he would have liked to do on multiple occasions at Dodger Stadium.
The moment was posted on X by Yankees reporter Bryan Hoch and makes it clear that Judge is in perfect shape, and that true to his custom he does not get hooked with anyone, so the priority in the team and for their fans should be that the only connection he has from now on is with the bat and nothing else.
