Aaron Judge makes big decision after Yankees’ policy change not to wear a beard

The traditional code of the New York Yankees of no beards or long hair has survived for the last 50 years, above trends, fashion criticism, protests and many other things.

However, the Bronx Bombers owner Hal Steinbrenner recently noted that the code imposed by his father in the 1970s could be modified.

Steinbrenner said that the New York ballplayers will be able to wear “well-groomed beards from now on”, and in the face of these words the Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, spoke out, and when the captain speaks, everyone listens.

Aaron Judge’s choice for the Yankees’ new code

The team’s top slugger and American League MVP apparently has no intention of setting an example on this “new trend” with the Bronx Bombers.

Given the interest in changing the presence of Yankees players, several reporters approached Aaron Judge for his opinion on the matter, since Judge himself once said that “rules should change over time,” although it seems that on this occasion it will not be so, since the captain clarified that he will continue to show up to games clean-shaven, in the purest Yankees style.

“If this is something that’s going to keep us from winning games or keep a player from performing at their best, why would we put it in the way of our ultimate goal?” Judge told the New York Daily News.

Steinbrenner clarified that no player is obliged to follow the rule imposed by his father almost 50 years ago, but that they are free to do so, and immediately the new player of the team, Devin Williams, appeared in the photo of the Yankees team with a beard.

The rules at the Yankees have relaxed, beards are no longer banned, but a clean shave is still a mark for some players; in the end, time will tell if this change ushers in a new era of freedom or just a few extra razor sales.
