Aaron Judge faces criticism for what was seen in spring training: “The season is over…”

A large number of questions hang over the heads of the New York Yankees since the curtain came down on the World Series and the Dodgers lifted the trophy at the Chavez Ravine colossus in Los Angeles.

The moves in free agency and the offseason market were expected to make the difference for the Yankees, but nothing done by Hal Steinbrenner has been satisfactory for the fans, who have shown their pessimism for the upcoming season, and worse, they continue to find arguments during the team’s Spring Training in Tampa, Florida.

Judge is shown up by minor league pitcher

One of those arguments is Aaron Judge, who after his fall in the postseason and in the clutch during the Fall Classic now adds a poor start to his training performance, and proof of this is what the press has been able to record.

A recent video by The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner posted on his X account set off alarm bells, as it shows how Judge can’t find the ball thrown by minor league pitcher Sean Boyle, invited to Tampa off the roster. Judge practically doesn’t see the 108-seam ball in the first two pitches from the 28-year-old hurler and in the third he strikes out swinging, embarrassingly.

The fierce criticism of Judge’s fans

The 2024 American League MVP was exposed by a minor league pitcher, and given the Yankees’ relationship with their fans, the situation is not to be overlooked. The post on the platform immediately began to receive a large number of interactions, all critical and pessimistic: “Wow, the season is over,” “Judge, it looks like it’s October,” “Judge is still stuck in his postseason form!” “He’s got a silly move there, that second pitch danced across the plate,” “With this guy it’s a home run or a strikeout,” were just some of the many comments Judge received after his debacle in the batter’s box.
