$400 million for Cody Bellinger at Yankees ruled out; Tatsuya Imai would be the target

Cody Bellinger is in a position to listen to offers that even exceed the $200 million mark. Due to the Yankees’ interest in Kyle Tucker, whose contract is rumored to be around $400 million, the New York franchise would not be willing to offer that amount to Bellinger to return to the team

wait for Bellinger himself to lower his fee for an affordable proposal or sign Japanese Tatsuya Imai.

the Bronx Bombers will wait until the last minute to go all out for Bellinger,

who will not be able to turn down an offer if he has not managed to settle in another franchise, although they run the risk that an organization will pay him what he asks for and then they will have no chance of acquiring a player of his level.

It does sound like the (Yankees) might be stretching the budget a little bit to get one more starter, plus they still need to sign Cody Bellinger and/or someone else for their outfield. So it will be interesting to see what the Yankees do, because if they lose Bellinger, their alternative plan is not entirely clear

Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies join Yankees in pursuit of Imai

Although he does not rule out the option of going for the Japanese, the Yankees are still waiting for the Christmas miracle with Bellinger. Meanwhile, the Cubs and Phillies are not wasting time. They are preparing their respective final offers to seduce the Japanese pitcher and thus forget about going to New York, because he would like to play for that team.

If the New York franchise takes too long to negotiate, Imai would be willing to talk to Chicago and Philadelphia.
