Throughout his career, Wilt Chamberlain set 72 NBA records that still stand in the history books. Of these, 67 are held alone after Shai Gilgeous-Alexander equaled the record for most consecutive games scoring at least 20 points. The legendary center, who played for the Warriors, Sixers and Lakers, has mostly scoring marks. Here are some of the most notable ones that seem almost impossible to beat.Most points scored in a game: 100, against the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962.Most points scored on average in a season: 50.4, in 1961-62. The next three marks are also his.Most points in a season: 4,029, in 1961-62. The second best record also belongs to him.Most points scored in a half: 59, in the second half against the Knicks on the day he scored 100 points.Most 50-point games in a season: 45, in 1961-62. No other player has surpassed 10.

Most 40-point games in a season: 63, in 1961-62. The next non-Chamberlain player is Michael Jordan with 37.Most consecutive seasons leading the NBA in scoring: seven. This record is shared with Jordan.Most regular season games scoring 60 points: 32. Next is Kobe Bryant with six.More regular season games reaching 50 points: 118. Next is Jordan with 31.Most regular-season games scoring 40 points: 271. Next is Jordan with 173.

Most consecutive games scoring 60 points: four, between February 25 and March 2, 1962. He is the only player to have scored 60 points in consecutive games.Most consecutive games scoring 50 points: seven, between December 16 and 29, 1961.Most consecutive games scoring 40 points: 14 in two streaks, between December 8 and 30, 1961, and between January 11 and February 1, 1962.Most consecutive games scoring 30 points: 65, between November 4, 1961 and February 22, 1962.

Most consecutive games scoring 20 points: 126, between October 19, 1961 and January 19, 1963. This is the record that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander now shares and could take away in the next game against the Celtics. The Canadian point guard’s streak began on November 1, 2024.

Most consecutive games leading all players in scoring: 40, in the 1961-62 season.Most consecutive games leading his team in scoring: 116.Highest scoring average by a rookie: 37.6, in the 1959-60 season.

Most points in a season by a rookie: 2,707, in the 1959-60 season.Most points scored by a rookie in a game: 58, on two occasions.Most consecutive games by a rookie with 40 points: five.Most points scored in an NBA debut: 43, on October 24, 1959, against the New York Knicks.

In other statistics, Chamberlain also grabbed 55 rebounds in a game, accumulated 227 double-doubles, led the NBA in points and rebounds six times, averaged 48.5 minutes in a season, which means he played it all including overtime, as games are 48 minutes long… And that’s not counting blocks.
