Boxing is far from an easy path. While it can yield substantial earnings through grit and fists, the toll on physical health is significant. The damage may not be immediately visible, but over time, it inevitably affects all who dedicate themselves to this demanding sport.

It also serves as a way out of financial hardship. For many, it becomes a launchpad to rise above limited means. With discipline and punching power, something once distant can suddenly become achievable.

Such is the case of Mexican boxer William Zepeda, who saw in boxing a chance to meet his financial goals while supporting his family-and at the same time, pursue the sport he loves and enjoys deeply.

William Zepeda was born on June 4, 1996, in San Mateo Atenco, Mexico. Now 29 years old, he is known in the boxing world as “El Camarón.” His professional debut came on November 14, 2015, against Alonso Salvatierra in a bout held in Cabo San Lucas. The result was a third-round knockout. That impressive start hinted at the promising career ahead of him.

‘El Camarón’ Zepeda’s record

Since that distant debut in November 2015, William “El Camarón” Zepeda has not lost a single fight in his professional career.

His most recent bout took place on March 29, 2025, at the Poliforum Benito Juárez in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico, where he faced Tevin Farmer in a rematch of their previous encounter in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Once again, the Mexican fighter emerged victorious.

Out of the 33 fights he has contested, 27 have ended via knockout. This clearly shows the sheer power in his fists. Knockouts have become a defining element of his boxing journey.

Financial net worth

Now, with a solid career already underway, William “El Camarón” Zepeda has built an impressive net worth that has brought more stability to his life compared to his early days in the sport.

So far, Zepeda has accumulated an estimated $4 million from his fights, sponsorship deals, and possible bonuses. His current earnings per fight range between $250,000 and $400,000.

There is no doubt that well-placed punches can yield enormous financial rewards for those who make boxing their profession.
