Will Tiger Woods be present at the 2025 Masters?

Tiger Woods has officially withdrawn from the 2025 Masters Tournament, ending speculation surrounding his potential return to Augusta National this year.

The 15-time major winner, who has long revered the tournament’s traditions, chose not to attend either the Champions Dinner or the first three rounds of play.

At 49, Woods is currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon in his left leg, sustained while preparing for the tournament.

In a statement, Woods confirmed the injury occurred during his training ramp-up last month, which required a minimally invasive procedure performed by Dr. Charlton Stucken in Florida. The surgery was successful, and Woods is now focusing on rehabilitation at home.

Relationship spotlight adds to the decision

Sources close to the golfer suggest that his absence wasn’t solely due to injury. Woods reportedly opted to remain home to avoid turning the Masters into a media spectacle, especially after his relationship with Vanessa Trump-ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr.-became public.

The couple, who began dating in late 2024, made headlines just weeks before the Masters, drawing heavy media attention. According to insiders, Woods feared their presence at Augusta might distract from the tournament’s spirit and overshadow the event.

“He views Augusta as sacred ground,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“He didn’t want it to become a circus.”

Despite the public curiosity, both Woods and Trump have kept a relatively low profile. Trump recently voiced support for Woods on social media, reposting an announcement about a new educational initiative between the TGR Foundation and Augusta National. The project aims to bring a TGR Learning Lab to Augusta, expanding access to STEM education and golf for underserved youth.

While Woods‘ competitive future remains uncertain, fans remain hopeful that the golf legend will return in 2026.

In the meantime, his energy appears to be focused on healing-and continuing to make an impact off the course.
