The younger brother of Angel Reese, Julian Reese, admitted that at times he has to get her off his back a little because she is constantly on him. It’s the classic dynamic of a big sister who never stops talking to her brother, pushing him to do things better, pointing out what he could improve and, sometimes, even overwhelming him a bit.
Julian, who recently earned his opportunity with the Washington Wizards after signing a two-way contract following his path through the NBA’s development system, finally has his chance at the highest level. And with that moment arriving, it was obvious that his sister wasn’t going to leave him alone for even a second.
Angel Reese keeps close watch on her brother in the NBA
Angel has already shown up twice to support her brother when he plays for the Wizards, sitting courtside to watch him in action. But even when she’s not in the arena, she is still right there with him through her phone constantly sending him messages about how he can improve.
Recently, Julian revealed in a postgame interview that his older sister is on him all the time: before games, during them and afterward.
Angel Reese sends him messages on his phone with her observations while she watches him play and tries to help him improve. Julian says she even texts him during halftime to tell him what he should adjust.
Even though he jokes that sometimes he has to get her off his back and focus on his own game, he also makes it clear that he truly appreciates having a sister like her, someone who wants him to succeed, watches his games closely and is always there for him.
“She hits me up before and after every game just telling me what I need to do. Watches the game, tries to text me at halftime… sometimes I got to get her off me a little bit just try to tell her let me do what I do. It’s just great having a sister like that’s always on me and just trying to see the best for her brother especially while she’s busy doing stuff that she’s doing. Love her to death.”
For Julian Reese, the constant messages can sometimes feel overwhelming in the middle of a game, but they also represent something far more valuable. Having a sister like Angel Reese following every possession, analyzing his performance and encouraging him to improve shows the kind of family support many young players rely on when starting their NBA careers. It’s clear that behind the jokes there is a deep appreciation for a big sister who truly wants and seeks the best for her brother.
