“Who the hell do you think you are?”: Dodgers’ best gardener responds with dynamite to San Diego

The rivalry between the Dodgers and the Padres is at its hottest point of the MLB season. With the fierce battle that both are waging against San Francisco for the National League West pennant, every detail counts, which is why the victories that Dave Roberts’ boys have achieved against San Diego are so important

Five head-to-head meetings and four wins for the Dodgers is the tally so far in this particular divisional duel, where tensions are escalating. On Monday, for example, Cuban Andy Pages was not happy with a hit by pitch from Dylan Cease and the benches were about to be emptied, especially by the reaction of the Padres

“Who the hell do you think you are?” was the shout that was heard from the San Diego dugout. Later, a video went viral in which it can be clearly seen that the protagonist of the challenge to the Cuban outfielder was Padres’ third base coach Mike Schidlt, visibly upset and ready for a fight

Luckily, nothing else happened at that moment, but after the game the controversial Manny Machado, who has a lot of unfinished business with the Dodgers, again lashed out at the 24-year-old Caribbean youngster by saying that if they wanted to hit someone from the team they would definitely aim at one of the stars, not Pages

“I saw the video in the morning and obviously I didn’t pay too much attention. I left yesterday’s game behind and focused on today’s game,” replied the Cuban, who has become the Dodgers’ best outfielder in 2025 and one of the most solid outfielders in Major League Baseball today

But the best of Andy Pages came right after. The Cuban spoke on the field and completely silenced the Padres’ bench with a spectacular display in the fifth game between the two teams. Four hits, two home runs, three RBIs and the same number of runs scored was the Caribbean player’s tally

“Whatever it was that impacted him or not, he really had a great night and came prepared. It’s been fun to watch Andy play baseball,” said manager Dave Roberts, who ended up being ejected after a pitch to Shohei Ohtani in which both teams were warned

Pages’ numbers, to put them in context, are at the same level as great National League stars in the outfield such as Fernando Tatis Jr, Juan Soto or Pete Crow-Armstrong, and above other renowned players such as Oneil Cruz, Brandon Nimmo, Jung Hoo Lee or Jackson Chourio

This detail apparently was overlooked by the San Diego Padres, who went after the Cuban and only managed to motivate him more. The result was an absolute massacre that the Friars will not forget.
