The NFL spotlight is on Ford Field on Thursday, where Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Detroit Lions (7-5) host Javonte Williams and the Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1) in an offensive showdown. The game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET, with two teams that are living opposite realities on defense, but that have explosive offenses capable of breaking any game.

Detroit arrives with the third-best offense in the league (29.2 points per game), while Dallas boasts the second-best attack (29.3). However, the defenses tell a different story: the Lions are 15th (22.8 points allowed), and the Cowboys, one of the worst teams of the year, allow 28.5 points per game.

Where and when to watch Lions vs. Cowboys?

  • Date: Thursday, December 4, 2025
  • Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Ford Field, Detroit
  • TV: Amazon Prime Video
  • Live scoreboard: Fox Sports

Dallas’ recent dominance

The Cowboys have won four of the last five meetings between the two. Even so, recent points performance is close: Dallas has scored just nine fewer points than Detroit in its last five games.

Lions: balanced attack and St. Brown as engine

The Detroit team has found balance and consistency:

  • Passing game: 238.2 yards per game (7th in the NFL)
  • Passing defense: 212.5 yards allowed (17th)
  • Rushing attack: 138.1 yards per game (4th)
  • Rushing defense: 103.7 yards allowed (11th)
  • Turnover margin: +5 (7th best in the league)

Key players:

  • Jahmyr Gibbs: 1,019 yards, 10 TDs and an average of 5.8 per carry.
  • Jared Goff: 3,025 yards, 25 TDs, 5 INTs and 69.8% completion.
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown: 75 receptions, 884 yards and 9 TDs so far in 2025.

Cowboys: elite aerial attack, defense under pressure

Dallas lives in a very marked contrast:

  • Passing offense: Best in the NFL with 271.3 yards per game
  • Pass defense: third worst, allowing 251.5 yards
  • Rushing attack: 121.8 yards per game (13th)
  • Rushing defense: 124.7 yards allowed (20th)
  • Turnover margin: -5 (26th)

Key players

  • Dak Prescott: 3,261 yards, 25 TD and 8 INT with 69.3% completion.
  • Javonte Williams: 955 rushing yards and 8 TDs (79.6 per game).
  • George Pickens: 73 receptions, 1,142 yards (95.2 per game) and 8 TDs.

A duel to watch: St. Brown vs. Dallas secondary

The Lions’ star receiver arrives in great form and will face a pass defense that has struggled all season. Pickens, on the Texans’ side, is also aiming for a big game against a Detroit perimeter that alternates between good and bad.

With two hot attacks and two stars like St. Brown and Javonte Williams on the front line, everything points to a high-scoring game in Detroit.
