An impressive derby. A match that had everything. Goals, penalties, expulsions, controversies… and some personal revenge. Vinicius had it in for Simeone for the Argentine’s provocations in the last derby. It was when he was substituted and under the watchful eye of the Argentine, who reproached him for his attitude.
It was DAZN in its Super8 program who discovered the images of the Brazilian. And they were not the only ones. Vinicius was substituted in the 87th minute after his brace and went to the Atleti bench to give shape to his ‘revenge’.
“They’re going to sell me, they’re going to sell me”
In this way, and on four occasions, the Brazilian winger repeated this phrase: “They are going to sell me, they are going to sell me…”. This was ‘revenge’ for which we have to go back to the last derby played in Saudi Arabia to understand it, when Simeone sought to provoke Vinicius by assuring him that “Florentino was going to sell him”.
Words that did not go down well with the Atletico coach, who was clearly annoyed with the Real Madrid player’s behaviour when he was substituted.
“You always get fooled by the same one”
In the middle of Valverde’s expulsion, Arbeloa was really angry about the red card to his player. In this anger, the coach accused Baena of being a ‘liar’: “It’s always the same one who deceives you, it’s always the same one who deceives you”.
On the pitch, the Uruguayan could not believe it either: “How can it be red? I go for the ball, what happens is that I do not arrive“. Munuera explained to him the harshness of his tackle while the Real Madrid coach continued in his own way: “It’s incredible, it’s a disgrace“.
When the referee approaches the bench to explain the action, Arbeloa does not seem to change his mind: “It’s a trip. Have you played football?” to end up telling him that he will see it again later.
