After months of speculation, tennis legend Venus Williams officially confirmed her engagement to Italian actor and producer Andrea Preti.
The tennis star revealed the news on her official Instagram account with four sweet photos, marking the first post she has shared with her partner on the social media platform.
Venus confirms her engagement
Although the couple had kept their relationship very private, the first hint of their romance came on July 27, 2024, when they were first spotted together sailing in Nerano, along the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Since then, they have attended various events together.
However, in February 2025, rumors of their engagement intensified after Venus was seen in Italy wearing a diamond ring on her ring finger.
In July of this year, after winning her first singles match in 16 months at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C., the tennis player excitedly told the press, “My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing.”
Now, Venus has confirmed her engagement, which she has been pursuing for almost a year, after sharing four photos with her 2.1 million Instagram followers. The photos show her with her fiancé and their dog. “Engaged 1/31/25,” she wrote, along with a star emoji.
In the pictures, she wears a short, flared white dress with her hair styled in a sleek, half-updo, while Andrea is seen wearing black pants and an animal-print shirt, and later a plain white shirt.
Upon sharing the news, her followers quickly left messages of support and affection in the comments:
“Congratulations!!! Love looks wonderful on you both,” one wrote. “And we’re bursting with happiness for you,” said another follower. “Huge congratulations!!! You look beautiful and are absolutely glowing!” wrote a third fan.
