Tyreek Hill to Buffalo? What a bold signing would mean for the Bills

The Buffalo Bills’ quest to reach the long-awaited Super Bowl has taken an aggressive turn after another postseason disappointment, and the front office’s goal is to find someone who can accompany quarterback Josh Allen to build a solid offense.

After falling 33-30 to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round, the organization not only fired Sean McDermott to elevate Joe Brady as head coach, but now aims to shake up the NFL market. According to Sports Illustrated analyst Conor Orr, they are positioned to pursue the signing of Tyreek Hill.

After being cut by the Miami Dolphinsdue to a roster restructuring and his recent injury history, the fastest receiver in the league is looking for a new home, and Buffalo appears willing to win the bidding war even against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“While I think the chase for Hill will be closer to the post-hype ‘chase’ for Odell Beckham Jr.- less of a drama and more about which team is willing to shell out even the slightest of guarantees – he is good enough to warrant the curiosity of a team on the doorstep,” Orr wrote about Buffalo’s interest.

Who is Tyreek Hill?: Pure speed for a second chance

Born in Douglas, Georgia, in 1994, Tyreek Hill has been for nearly a decade the definition of a “constant threat.” His career began in meteoric yet turbulent fashion after being selected in the fifth round of the 2016 draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Known as “Cheetah” for his elite speed – backed by a gold medal in the 4×100 relay at the 2012 World U20 Championships – during his time with the Chiefs he was a key piece in winning Super Bowl LIV and set franchise records with 15 touchdowns in a single season in 2020.

In 2022 he was traded to the Miami Dolphins where he became Tua Tagovailoa’s primary ally, reaching a franchise record with 1,710 receiving yards in his first year. However, his ending in Miami was bitter: in the 2025-26 season, he suffered a torn ACL following a chilling knee dislocation that sidelined him.

After being cut by the Dolphins at the end of the campaign, Hill enters free agency as a veteran who, if he regains his health, could be the ally Josh Allen has long awaited.
