Tyreek Hill may have just dropped a major hint about his lingering wrist injury. The Miami Dolphins receiver, who has battled wrist issues since August 2024, appeared on Instagram promoting an event at his Soul Runner store, while sporting what looked like a cast on his left wrist.
“Yo, anybody in the Aventura area, come pull up on me at the Soul Runner,” Hill said, inviting fans to meet him. While he made no official statement about surgery, the cast on his wrist spoke volumes.
Hill initially opted to play through the pain last season, repeatedly landing on the injury report but refusing to miss games. Surgery was on the table back in November 2024, but he dismissed it, saying, “It’s my call at the end of the day.” That call may have changed.
Despite the injury, Hill remained a key piece of the Dolphins‘ offense, evolving beyond just a deep threat. Under the guidance of Wes Welker, he expanded his route-running abilities, though his production dipped. His 51.3 yards per game were a far cry from his usual explosiveness, but he played through the pain. Now, with the wrist situation unclear, another storyline is heating up-his future with Miami.
A Chiefs reunion on the horizon?
NFL analysts are speculating about Hill’s next move, with trade rumors gaining traction. ESPN’s Bill Barnwell floated the idea of Hill joining the Ravens, pairing him with Lamar Jackson in what would be a nightmare for opposing defenses. However, NFL.com’s Adam Rank has another theory, Hill returning to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kansas City sent Hill to Miami in 2022, and while Patrick Mahomes has won two Super Bowls without him, the Chiefs‘ offense hasn’t looked the same. With Travis Kelce aging and rookie Xavier Worthy still developing, the idea of reuniting Mahomes with Hill is tempting.
Hill’s frustrations with Miami’s lack of postseason success have been evident. If the Dolphins aren’t serious contenders, could a trade back to Kansas City make sense? The Chiefs have other priorities-protecting Mahomes, for one-but giving him another elite weapon could be the missing piece.
Hill may not be the fastest player in the league anymore, but even at 30 and battling injuries, teams are circling. Whether it’s a fresh start in Baltimore, a homecoming in Kansas City, or another season in Miami, the Cheetah remains one of the NFL’s most coveted stars.
