Adam Sandler spared no expense in creating Happy Gilmore 2, which boasts an avalanche of surprise cameos-from today’s top golfers to WWE legends, plus everyone’s favorite tight end, Travis Kelce, and social media sensation Paige Spiranac.
Originally released in 1996, Happy Gilmore followed a failed hockey player who found unlikely success (and chaos) on the golf course. True to Sandler’s brand, it was a box office hit, a critical miss, and eventually a cult classic.
Now, nearly three decades later, Sandler returns as Gilmore-only this time, the sequel premiered not in theaters but on Netflix, hitting screens on July 25. And we can finally confirm the star-studded lineup of unexpected appearances.
Which athletes appear in Happy Gilmore 2?
NFL fans will immediately spot Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who makes a hilarious cameo as a waiter. He’s joined by former running back Reggie Bush and WNBA standout Kelsey Plum. Spiranac appears as the manager of a golf simulator where Gilmore trains for his comeback.
Naturally, the movie features a full swing of golf royalty, starting with current world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and rising star Will Zalatoris. Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brooks Koepka share a flashy scene alongside Sandler.
The sequel gathers legends from across generations, including Nelly Korda, Nancy Lopez, Collin Morikawa, Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples, Charley Hull, David Duval, Colin Montgomerie, Annabel Angel, Wyndham Clark, and Bubba Watson.
Keep your eyes peeled to spot these blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos from Corey Pavin, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Lee Trevino, Retief Goosen, Jim Furyk, Charles Howell III, and Sir Nick Faldo.
Music and movie stars add to the madness
Christopher McDonald reprises his iconic role as villain Shooter McGavin, and Julie Bowen returns as Gilmore’s love interest-turned-wife, Virginia Vent.
Other surprise guests include Ben Stiller as Hal L; plus Eminem, Bad Bunny, Benny Safdie, Margaret Qualley, and Sandler’s real-life daughter Sunny Sandler, who now plays his daughter on screen. Their appearances help define Happy Gilmore 2 as a nostalgic fever dream of cameos and chaos-and a sequel no one saw coming.
