Tom Brady announces his NFL return alongside Rob Gronkowski, but his physique puts his teammate to shame

Tom Brady knows exactly how to get the internet buzzing.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion sent fans into a frenzy this week after posting workout photos with longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski, reviving speculation about a potential NFL comeback. The caption? A simple but loaded phrase: “We’re so back.”

That was all it took.

Within minutes, social media lit up with reactions from fans who momentarily believed Brady was teasing an unretirement. One follower wrote:

‘Man when I clicked on the notification I thought you unretired’. another mentioned ‘Stop giving us a heart attack, I thought you’ unretired’

The post featured Brady and Gronkowski training together, looking sharp and game-ready. For a fan base that has never fully accepted Brady’s retirement, the optics were enough to stir hope – even if only for a few seconds.

A playful tease – not an NFL comeback for Brady and Gronkowski

Despite the viral reaction, there is no indication that Brady is planning another NFL return. The future Hall of Famer officially stepped away from football after the 2022 season, closing out a legendary 23-year career that included seven Super Bowl titles and three league MVP awards.

Brady first rose to prominence with the New England Patriots, where he spent 20 seasons building one of the greatest dynasties in sports history. After leaving New England following the 2019 season, he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and promptly delivered the franchise a Super Bowl championship.

Along the way, Rob Gronkowski was one of his most dominant and trusted weapons. The Brady-Gronk connection became one of the most productive quarterback-tight end duos in NFL history. So seeing the pair back together – even casually – naturally reignited nostalgia and speculation.

Brady has previously acknowledged that retirement was not an easy transition. His brief unretirement in 2022 only fueled the belief that he might one day return again. However, his current focus appears firmly rooted in his new career path.

Brady’s new role with the Raiders

Today, Brady serves in an executive capacity with the Las Vegas Raiders, adding another chapter to his football résumé. The former quarterback has been active behind the scenes, recently helping usher in a new era by hiring Klint Kubiak as the team’s head coach.

With the NFL Draft approaching, Brady is reportedly immersed in evaluating talent and shaping the Raiders’ future.

Still, his social media savvy suggests he understands the power of a well-timed tease. By posting the workout with Gronkowski – and pairing it with a suggestive caption – Brady delivered exactly what he intended: engagement, nostalgia and a momentary jolt of hope.

For now, it appears the comeback rumors are nothing more than playful misdirection. But if there’s one thing Brady has proven over two decades, it’s that he loves keeping fans guessing.
