After conquering all of North America with his historic Super Bowl halftime show, Bad Bunny continues with his ‘DeBI TiRAR MaS FOToS World Tour’ where after his visit to Argentina it is now the turn of Brazil, where Benito has given something to talk about with his show and a small tribute to the greatest star of Brazilian soccer.

As is customary today at multiple concerts, artists can make references to the country where they are performing and for Bad Bunny, his visit to Brazil was no exception as he decided to change the lyrics of one of his songs from mentioning Cristiano Ronaldo to the legendary Pele.

Bad Bunny pays tribute to Messi before his concert in Brazil

In one of his shows, the Puerto Rican singer left his fans speechless by including a version of “De musica ligera” by Soda Stereo performed in salsa and also by modifying the lyrics of one of his most popular songs of recent years to refer to the current captain of the Argentine national team and MVP of the MLS, Lionel Messi.

In his song ‘Otra Noche en Miami’, Bad Bunny changed the phrase “Soy Cristiano despues de meter un gol” to “soy Messi despues de meter un gol”. With the change, the singer caused a strong reaction of excitement among those present, who enjoyed the adjustment in the lyrics.

This was not the only reference to the Argentine star, Benito also took to the stage wearing the albiceleste jersey of the Argentine national team with the number 19, the first one used by Messi in the Argentine team, since at the time the number 10 belonged to the historic Juan Roman Riquelme.

How was Pele’s mention by Bad Bunny?

Just as the singer did in Argentina with Messi, he now changed the fragment of the song “Monaco” to “It’s like scoring a goal after Pele and Maradona”, causing total euphoria among those present.

After the fact, Pele’s official account on X commented:

Bad Bunny showed that football is music and joy. In his two performances in Brazil, he made sure to pay tribute to our eternal King. And that says a lot. About respect. About legacy. About how football transcends borders, languages and generations.

Pele has always belonged to the world. And when a Latin artist of Bad Bunny’s stature pays tribute to the King on Brazilian soil, we understand that the crown still shines. Thank you for the tribute, Benito. Music connects people. Football does too.
