Thibaut Courtois unveils which teammate he would choose in order to survive Apocalypsis

As Real Madrid prepares for a crucial stretch in the season, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois gave fans a lighter moment off the field during a social media Q&A.

The Belgian star was asked which teammate he would choose to survive an apocalypse, and his answer quickly made the rounds among supporters.

Courtois said he would pick defender Dani Carvajal if the world were coming to an end. His reasoning was practical. The goalkeeper explained that survival would require someone he could live with and rely on day to day, adding that Carvajal‘s personality and leadership qualities would help with direction and decision-making in extreme circumstances.

Courtois talks about other special teammates

He also offered an alternative depending on the goal. If survival were less important than enjoying the final days, Courtois joked that he would choose Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé. According to Courtois, the two attackers would guarantee entertainment until the very end, a nod to their dynamic presence both on and off the pitch.

The exchange came as Real Madrid turns its focus back to competition. The club returns Saturday to the Santiago Bernabéu, where it has won 10 of 11 matches in the current league campaign. Arbeloa‘s squad hosts Real Sociedad on Matchday 24 with the objective of securing an eighth consecutive league victory. A win would temporarily move Madrid to the top of the table, pending the outcome of the Girona-Barcelona match on Monday.

Mbappé’s scoring form could prove decisive. The French forward has scored in each of the last six league matchdays, providing consistent production during a demanding stretch of the calendar. Head coach Álvaro Arbeloa cautioned that Real Sociedad will present a serious challenge, noting their strong recent run of form.

Real Madrid looks unstoppable

Since the arrival of coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, Sociedad is unbeaten in nine matches across competitions, including a Copa victory at San Mamés earlier this week. The Basque side currently sits eighth in LaLiga, led offensively by Mikel Oyarzabal, who has nine league goals.

Madrid will also benefit from the return of Vinícius Júnior, who is back from suspension. February includes a demanding schedule with a Champions League doubleheader against Benfica and a league visit to El Sadar before the month concludes.

While Courtois‘ apocalypse answer added humor to the week, the focus now shifts to maintaining momentum in the title race. With key players in form and the Bernabéu advantage, Real Madrid enters the weekend in position to continue its push at the top of the standings.
