JJ Redick

“Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves will be out indefinitely. I won’t give you any news this week… They will be out indefinitely,” he told the Los Angeles press.

Doncic to return to Los Angeles on Friday after treatment for injury in Madrid

Luka Doncic suffered a hamstring strain, from which he was treated in Madrid, and Reaves suffered a sprain during the Lakers’ loss to the Thunder on April 2 in Oklahoma City, and neither returned during the regular season.

The Los Angeles press reports that the former Real Madrid player will return to Los Angeles on Friday after his trip to Spain to receive treatment for his hamstring.

Reaves is in Los Angeles and shot free throws with several teammates after practice on Tuesday. The forecast is that the shooting guard will be out for the entire first round.

Officially, the Lakers have not set a timetable for the recovery of either player, as these muscle injuries usually require at least a month to recover.

The Lakers lose 56.8 points, 13.8 assists and 12.4 rebounds without Doncic and Reaves

Without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, the Lakers, who are 3-2 without them, lose 56.8 points, 13.8 assists and 12.4 rebounds per game.

Luke Kennard and Marcus Smart will have to step up to make Doncic and Reaves forget.

“We’ve implemented some strategies, with different players who are going to contribute,” Smart acknowledged.
