Even though she had just finished her second year in the WNBA after the Indiana Fever were eliminated from the playoffs, Caitlin Clark had already established herself as a star in her rookie year in the WNBA.
However, the 23-year-old point guard has also made known her love for other sports and her support for athletes. And it is precisely this that could get her in trouble with Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
CC receives a gift from the Colts
Clark was a guest on the New Heights podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce in 2024. There, she made no secret of her favoritism for the younger brother’s team, but her family’s influence:
“I had family in Kansas City, and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours from Kansas City. That’s just the closest NFL team. My dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up. People think I’m like a bandwagon Chiefs fan. I’m like, no, I was there before Patrick and Travis. We were ride or die… my brother loved Tony Gonzalez. We would, like, go to one game a year growing up because my cousin was down in Kansas City,” Clark said.
She was even seen cheering on the Chiefs in their game against the Houston Texans last season alongside Travis’ now-fiancĂ©e, Taylor Swift.
However, but given her career in Indiana, Caitlin received a very special gift from the Colts: a personalized team jersey with her name and number 22 on it. This gift comes ahead of the team’s home game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Along with CC, the rest of the Fever also received their jerseys as a sign of unity between the local sports teams.
Meanwhile, Clark will have a difficult decision to make ahead of the Kansas City vs. Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday, November 23.
CC, who appeared in only 13 games after suffering a groin injury, hopes to make a full recovery by the end of October and return to shine on the court.
