In addition, the Tigers’ president of baseball operations, Scott Harris, stated that he does not believe in “untouchables” within the organization and is open to “exploring any option that may or may not have a future”, further fueling rumors of a possible departure of his best arm.

Now the main challenge for Detroit is that its pitcher becomes a free agent at the end of the 2026 season, which limits its value in the market.
