The Dodgers are insatiable and want another coveted player who will make them stronger

The Dodgers management seems determined to leave no trace of competition in Major League Baseball. After having given a blow of authority with the multi-million dollar signing of Kyle Tucker, the Californian team has once again set the trade market radar buzzing.

With an increasingly powerful roster, the Dodgers are looking to stay on top and to repeat their success, they have set their sights on Milwaukee Brewers’ Dominican ace Freddy Peralta.

Dodgers are going for Freddy Peralta

According to the most recent reports from journalist Hector Gomez, talks between the two organizations have gone from superficial interest to aggressive pressure from the Dodgers.

The Los Angeles team is looking to take advantage of Peralta’s contract situation, as he will receive just $8 million in 2026, making him the best value-for-money pitcher on the entire pitching market.

Although the Dodgers’ current rotation features big names such as Shohei Ohtani and Blake Snell, durability is the big question mark for the group. This is where Peralta’s figure becomes indispensable, as he is coming off a dominant 2025 with a 2.70 ERA and a career-high 204 strikeouts.

In addition, unlike other injury-prone starters on the roster, the Dominican has averaged more than 170 innings over the past three seasons.

Milwaukee won’t make it easy for the Dodgers

Milwaukee will not give up its star easily. The price for Peralta is expected to be higher than what the Orioles paid for Corbin Burnes two seasons ago. Thanks to the fact that the Dodgers have one of the deepest farm systems in baseball, they have plenty of “trade chips”, especially in the outfield area, to meet the Brewers’ demands.

If the move goes through, MLB could be looking at one of the most impressive rotations in modern history, making it clear that in Los Angeles the word “complacency” does not exist.
