Tennis star Frances Tiafoe may not be a devoted Swiftie, but after a memorable encounter with Taylor Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game, he has nothing but admiration for the music icon.
In a recent interview with Tennis TV, Tiafoe reflected on his experience at Arrowhead Stadium in November 2024, when he and his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, attended the Chiefs’ matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Upon entering a private suite, they were immediately greeted by none other than Swift.
“I’m thinking, ‘Try to act like you’ve been here before,'” Tiafoe joked, recalling the surreal moment.
A surprise connection and a day of fun
Although he doesn’t consider himself a hardcore fan, Tiafoe deeply respects talent and was impressed by Swift’s down-to-earth nature.
“I appreciate greatness so much, and seeing how cool she was, she’s got my ultimate respect,” he shared.
What caught him off guard was Swift’s knowledge of tennis. He even mentioned her appearance at the US Open men’s final last summer, where she and Travis Kelce were spotted enjoying the match together.
Tiafoe also revealed that the group spent the day celebrating in high spirits.
“We were drinking all day together, she was so cool,” he said.
“One of the most humble people for who she is. She’s amazing, and hopefully, we can do that again.”
After the Chiefs’ win, Tiafoe and Broomfield snapped a celebratory selfie with Swift and Kelce, capturing a memorable night. Swift, known for her impeccable game-day fashion, kept things stylish in a sleek Versace skirt suit.
Beyond the football field, Swift’s legacy continues to make waves-one of her iconic Eras Tour outfits has already been placed in a museum, giving fans the chance to see a piece of her record-breaking tour up close.
