Taylor Swift has added another title to her growing list of accomplishments, officially becoming the world’s richest female musician.

Previously, the top spot was held by Rihanna, but according to Forbes, Swift now leads with a net worth of $1.6 billion.

Much of this fortune comes from her music and live performances. Forbes estimates that up to $600 million is tied to royalties and touring, while her music catalog alone is valued at roughly $600 million. On top of that, Swift owns five homes across the U.S. worth approximately $125 million.

Right behind Swift sits Rihanna, whose estimated net worth is $1.4 billion, largely due to her Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty businesses.

Swift’s empire continues to grow

The announcement follows Forbes reporting that Swift became a billionaire in October 2023, driven by her Eras Tour and ownership of her music catalog.

The Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, has become the highest-grossing tour worldwide, earning over $1 billion.

According to Rolling Stone, Swift sold roughly 4.3 million tickets at an average price of $238 by December 2023.

Beyond touring, Swift continues to make waves with her music. Since 2021, she has been re-recording her first five albums to regain ownership of her masters after Scooter Braun sold the originals for over $200 million.

Her latest release, The Tortured Poets Department, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and remained at the top for 15 weeks after its release in April 2024, selling more than 2.4 million copies in the first half of the year alone.
