Stephen Curry set to return soon? Latest update sparks hope for Warriors fans

The Golden State Warriors have received a timely and encouraging update on Stephen Curry, offering renewed optimism as the team battles to keep its postseason hopes alive. After weeks on the sidelines, the franchise cornerstone appears to be trending toward a return, and the implications could be significant for a team that has struggled to maintain consistency in his absence.

Curry has missed the last 20 games due to patella-femoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in his right knee, an injury that has disrupted both his rhythm and the team’s momentum.

However, the latest re-evaluation delivered positive news, with the Warriors confirming that he is making “good progress” as his rehabilitation advances into a more intensive phase.

That progression now includes increased individual on-court workouts, a critical step that signals Curry is moving closer to game readiness.

The next phase is expected to involve participation in live action and full team practices, a development that typically precedes a return to competitive play.

The team plans to re-evaluate him again after returning home next week, which could further clarify his timeline.

The absence of Curry has coincided with a sharp downturn in form for the Warriors. Since his last appearance on January 30 against the Detroit Pistons, the team has gone 6-14, including a stretch in which they lost seven of eight games.

That slide has seen Golden State slide from the No. 7 seed to No. 10 in the Western Conference standings, now trailing the Los Angeles Clippers by one game in a tightening playoff race.

With just 12 games remaining before the play-in tournament, the margin for error is rapidly shrinking.

The Warriors are currently nearing the end of a demanding six-game road trip, with matchups against the Atlanta Hawks and the Dallas Mavericks still to come before returning to San Francisco.

That timeline could align perfectly with Curry‘s recovery schedule, potentially setting the stage for his comeback in front of a home crowd.

Curry closing in on return as optimism builds

Per Tim Kawakami of the San Francisco Standard, there is growing belief that Curry could return as early as the team’s next home game.

Observations from a recent workout at Chase Center suggest both physical readiness and mental sharpness are returning at the right time.

“Let me note here that Curry definitely seems to be feeling good about a return from his frustrating bout of ‘runner’s knee,'” Kawakami wrote.

“I saw him in the Chase Center locker room a few days back after a workout, and he looked dead-eye serious, like he was about to play Game 1 of the NBA Finals.”

He added further clarity on the potential timeline: “Unless there’s some new setback, Curry‘s coming back, maybe by the game against the Brooklyn Nets on March 25, when the Warriors get back home.”

This potential return date carries considerable weight. Curry, who is averaging a team-leading 27.2 points per game this season, remains the focal point of Golden State‘s offensive system.

His absence has exposed issues in shot creation, spacing, and late-game execution-areas where his influence is typically decisive.

Warriors take it steady

A healthy Curry would immediately elevate the Warriors‘ offensive ceiling and provide stability during critical stretches.

Beyond the statistical impact, his leadership and gravity on the floor often create opportunities for teammates, reshaping defensive schemes and opening scoring lanes.

Despite the urgency of the playoff race, the Warriors are continuing to take a measured approach, prioritizing Curry‘s long-term health.

The balance between caution and competitiveness remains delicate, but the latest update suggests the team may soon regain its most important player at a pivotal moment in the season.
