Sinner does not fail against Shelton and makes Djokovic tremble in the semifinals

The Australian Open will have the best possible semi-finals with the presence of the top four seeds. In this order: Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner (2), Alexander Zverev (3) and Novak Djokovic (4)

Sinner, who took refuge in the night session at the Rod Laver Arena, neither sweated nor suffered, unlike when he is exposed to the sun and the high temperatures of the capital of Victoria. This was demonstrated on Wednesday by Ben Shelton, who was defeated 6-3, 6-4, 6-4

Beyond the fact that everything that remains for Jannik will be under artificial light, the weather forecast is in his favor until the end of the tournament because temperatures will not exceed 30 degrees again.

Since Shelton defeated the Italian in the round of 16 of the 2023 Shanghai Masters 1000, he has lost nine times against the same opponent without winning a single set: 22-0. That’s what you call taking revenge:

The six-time major champion is virtually impregnable on the blue hard courts of Melbourne Park. He has now won 19 matches in a row. This record is intimidating to anyone, even Djokovic, who has lost to the San Candido native on the last five occasions they have met.

Roland Garros and Wimbledon

Sinner was Nole’s executioner last year in the semifinals of Roland Garros and Wimbledon. “I’m not chasing Jannik and Carlos. My big rivals were Nadal and Federer,” said the Serb, who is still going strong at 38, 14 years older than his next opponent on the Melbourne Park courts.
